Krillion Scoring Explained
How Krillion assigns rarity, why One in a Krillion is special, and how points become depth.
Rarity is assigned by the publisher
The official FAQ describes merging and cleaning datasets from dictionaries, encyclopedias and other relevant sources. Some prompts use a familiarity database; others use LLM assistance followed by a manual pass. The displayed tier is not simply a live percentage of today’s players.
The standout answer also needs to be satisfying
The publisher says the top Krillion answer is chosen partly for fun factor when extremely obscure answers become hard to distinguish. Memorizing the strangest possible name does not guarantee the top band.
Points become metres
The public current answer sheet uses 10, 15, 30, 60, 85 and 100 points. Each point represents 10 metres. Seven 100-point answers yield 700 points or 7,000 metres. Third-party practice sites can use different numbers; always check which game you are playing.
An absent answer is not automatically false
The developer acknowledges that relevant sources can be missed. If an answer is absent, first check the exact prompt, spelling and alternative names. The official game decides acceptance, and its answer set can be revised.
