How to find a less obvious answer without losing the clock
Start with a correct example, then move to a narrower branch of the category. An unusual answer only helps if it fits the exact prompt.
Read the restriction first
A question can restrict the place, period or type of answer. Repeat the restriction in your head before retrieving examples. A rare example outside the category is still a miss.
Change the retrieval cue
For a bird prompt, switch from garden birds to seabirds or waders. For an instrument prompt, switch from an orchestra to regional ensembles. This creates alternatives without forcing a long search.
Keep a fallback
Have one familiar accepted answer ready before seeking a rarer one. In DailyPlay practice, scores are fixed editorial ratings; the official Krillion validator and tiers are separate.
