Color memory: keep hue, saturation and brightness separate
Describe the color’s direction, dullness and brightness while it is visible. Recreate those three qualities one at a time.
Choose hue before fine-tuning
First decide whether the hue sits toward red, green or blue. Then adjust saturation and brightness. Moving all sliders at once makes feedback harder to understand.
Your screen affects the comparison
Display settings, ambient light and viewing angle affect colors. The score describes this game’s numerical color distance, not your vision or health.
Use the reveal
Compare your choice with the original side by side. Was it too vivid, too dark or simply a different hue? Use that one difference as your next-round cue.
